Description
The Panzer III was one of the most numerous German tanks of the war, and was the mainstay of German armored forces when they invaded the Soviet Union. With over 6,000 produced they saw action throughout the war, from the early days of the Blitzkrieg through to the last days of the Third Reich.
With a good balance of speed, firepower and protection, the Panzer III was a well-liked armored fighting vehicle with its crews of five men, and was capable of going toe-to-toe with heavier Allied tanks until the mid-period of the war.
The Panzer III was an incredibly flexible tank that carried a wide array of armament during the war. This boxed set allows you to build one of five different variants:
Early and late versions of the Ausf. J with its 5cm main gun and extra frontal armor.
The Ausf. L, which saw an upgraded long 5cm main gun and further armor upgrades.
The Ausf. M clad in trademark Schurzen armored skirts and deep-wading exhaust.
The Ausf. N infantry support tank with its short-barrelled 7.5cm gun.
