The Romanian used the 81.4mm Brandt mortar model 1927/31. The 81mm mortar produced by the French Brandt firm became a ’classic’ design of its era and was copied or licence-built by almost every army in Europe as well as the United States. It was adopted by the Romanians and used to outfit the mortar platoon supporting the infantry and cavalry.
