Decline and Fall: Late Roman Shield Decals: Herculiani Seniores

WARGAMING'S MOST CONVENIENT DECALS!
This box includes 36 shield decals for the Herculiani Seniores, a palatine legion of the Late Roman army. Pre-cut for ease of use and ready to apply directly to our plastic shields.

Named for Hercules, patron of the emperor Maximian, the Herculiani were raised under the Tetrarchy and brigaded with their sister legion the Ioviani. Vegetius records that they carried lead-weighted darts stowed behind the shield. The eagle is thought to represent the legion's own standard. Pattern recorded in the Notitia Dignitatum.
