Decline and Fall: Late Roman Shield Decals: Cornuti Seniores
WARGAMING'S MOST CONVENIENT DECALS!
This box includes 36 shield decals for the Cornuti Seniores, an elite regiment of the Late Roman army. Pre-cut for ease of use and ready to apply directly to our plastic shields.
"The horned ones" were the senior regiment of infantry in the Western field army, raised from Germanic manpower on the Rhine. At Strasbourg in 357 they took the Alamannic charge in the front line and answered it with the barritus, a war cry Ammianus described as rising from a low murmur to a roar like surf against cliffs. Pattern recorded in the Notitia Dignitatum.
