Dan Verssen Games Vikings: Become the Legend Core Game
The “Vikings, Become the Legend” core game is a competitive solo to two player wealth building game. Each game turn clans competing to settle, develop their settlements and earn resources.
Game play begins with drawing a Fate Card. It may bring more resources, famine or increased resistance in the regions you plan to interact with.
A key part of the game is planning and then successfully executing your actions. You decide when to build and what to build from warriors to ships and settlement structures. You decide where to send your Raiding or Long Ships and when & how to “Trade”, “Raid & Pillage” or “Raid & Settle” with each of these ships and their warriors. The opposing clans may also be your targets from time to time. But, use this option with caution, a blood feud does neither clan much good.
Battles are fought using the Battle Board. Raid Cards and the Attacking and Defending forces. Are placed on the board and the number of attacking rounds determined. Raid cards are simultaneously declared for the battle then unique battle dice are rolled to determine casualties. Shields defend, archers are resolved followed by berserkers (double axes) and then single axe-men.
The game ends when one player has 15 Silver on the Silver Tracker and has in play three settlements, one with a Market, one with a Ring Fort and one with a Mead Hall. Clan leaders then score their achievements with the high point total winning the game.
Vikings has seemingly endless options for game play and excellent re-play ability. Will you become the legend?
